The Homecourt Advantage
Part I
What does it mean to have a Homecourt Advantage?
In the world of sports, teams work very hard all season to secure what is known as homecourt advantage. They believe that playing in their home city with their own fans can make all the difference. It has been said that homecourt is the “sixth man.” It is the X Factor. In business and leadership the same is true.

The Big Idea: In like manner having a strong home in life can help you “play” better in business.
Here are 3 quick tips on how to have a strong homecourt.
Start and end the day with your kids strategically.
Zig Ziglar famously talked about raising positive kids in a negative world. He suggested starting each day with good manners and positive affirmations. He went on to say that we should end each day intentionally loving and affirming our kids. Love them, compliment them, encourage them and enjoy them. It has been said that rules without relationship leads to rebellion. Rules with relationship will lead to respect.
Protect your home from negativity.
If you live in the United States you have much reason to be hopeful. If you have faith in God you have every reason to hope for a better day. Zig Ziglar said, “Staying positive amidst life's challenges is a choice—a powerful one. Remember, your attitude, not circumstances, determines your altitude. Embrace each day with gratitude, focus on solutions, and surround yourself with positivity. Protect your home from outlets, people or any propaganda that pushes negativity.
Have a sense of humor.
Take life and your responsibilities seriously, but don’t take yourself too seriously. Humor is not merely about cracking jokes; it's a perspective, a mindset. Laughter, the universal language, possesses the unparalleled ability to bridge gaps, lighten burdens, and foster connections. A hearty laugh has the magical ability to dissolve tension, ease stress, and infuse optimism into the dullest of moments. In the realm of success, a good sense of humor is a formidable asset. It fosters rapport, diffuses conflicts, and builds bridges where walls once stood. Cultivate the skill of finding joy in life's journey. Your spouse and kids will thank you for it!
